Top 10 Blogs of 2015

By Raul Rivera

Throughout 2015, we had the privilege of serving thousands of churches and ministries across the nation. What a blessing to see pastors and leaders respond and answer the call that God has placed upon their lives! As we close out the year, we want to share with you a list of some of our top blogs from 2015; we believe they will help impact and empower you and your ministry in 2016.

Through our blogs, which go out to over 85,000 pastors and church leaders on a weekly basis, we have empowered church leaders with knowledge to navigate through the current legal landscape for churches. Here at StartCHURCH, we firmly believe that 2016 is the year for your church to expand!

As previously mentioned, the following list contains the most read blogs of 2015. Our top two blogs (the articles entitled “Supreme Court Ruling Response” and “Why Pastors/Churches Will NOT Have To Do Same-Sex Weddings”) addressed the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage and its affect on ministers and the church.

Another popular blog from 2015--the article entitled “IRS Denies the Deduction of Charitable Gifts”--addressed why the United States Tax Court recently affirmed the IRS’s decision to disallow a couple’s claim of $37,315 in charitable contributions. Understanding the substantiation requirements for charitable contributions is important for the donor, as well as the donee organization.

Other popular blogs discussed the importance of your church having strategic bylaws, tailored to your church. To read those articles, click below on the ones titled “My Repentance Got Me Fired” and “The Dangers of Copy and Paste”. Throughout 2015, it has been our honor and privilege to supply pastors and church leaders with the knowledge to navigate their churches through today’s legal environment.

Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” When you take the time to read our blogs, you are preparing and empowering yourself to protect the vision and dream that God has given you. I want to encourage you with the knowledge that we are here for you, ready to serve you, and I also want to personally extend an invitation for you to join us in 2016 at one of our Ultimate Church Structure Conferences.
