In All Things Be Thankful

By Raul Rivera

The 2016 year has been an unprecedented time in the history of our nation and within the Body of Christ. Historically throughout the world, the Church has existed in persecution, surviving and increasing amidst great suffering. In America, however, the Body of Christ has experienced over two hundred years of relative blessings and peace. We have known wonderful freedom!

Over the past several years, numerous affronts to our religious freedoms have occurred, and we have witnessed a strong shift in our nation away from many of the traditional values that have been held dear by the Church. While we must, as God’s people, continue to do all that we can to push the needle back in the direction of righteousness within our nation, we know that regardless of the circumstances, we can always be thankful that we have hope in Him.

His promise to us is that He works all things together for our good.

Therefore, we should give thanks to God in every situation because He is faithful to fulfill that promise.

As we all prepare to gather with family and friends today, I would like to take a moment to reflect on God’s goodness.

Over and over again, I have found that I can always rely on our Father in Heaven in both the best and worst of circumstances. I have learned that the most effective way to do this is with a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving.

As we reflect on 2016 and God’s goodness, let us not forget that because of God we have hope and a future. We can be thankful for the future and the good things to come. I look forward to hearing your testimonies of how churches are birthed, how communities are impacted, and how great strides are made to accomplish the will of God for your ministries.

From all of us here at StartCHURCH, we are grateful for you and the courageous work that you do to serve our God, advance His Kingdom, and to make a lasting impact in the lives of the people in your communities. It is our honor to serve men and women who work tirelessly to accomplish great things through God.

May the Lord continue to keep you and bless you, your family, and your ministry this Thanksgiving season!
